PABLO PONTORIERO

Mountaineer and paragliding pilot. Rock climber, ice climber, mountain skier. As a profession, he is a High Mountain Guide with international UIAGM IFMGA certification, and a professional FAVL two-seater paragliding pilot. He has lived in Bariloche since he was little and began his activity in the Club Andino Bariloche mountain school at the age of 8 and has not stopped moving in this environment until today. He graduated from the National University of Comahue, as a National Physical Education teacher with orientation in mountain activities; and AAGM High Mountain Guide since 2011. In 2013 he began paragliding and practicing this sport with great dedication. He made numerous ascents, trekking trips, on skis and climbs in the mountains near Bariloche. In sport climbing, he reached the level of 8a+ worked and 7c on sight. He developed the opening of many new routes and areas, especially in Bariloche, being the author of the "Bariloche Vertical" Climbing Guide, which has been in 5 editions since 2004 to date. In Argentine Patagonia, he has climbed the Fitz Roy 4 times via different routes; Cerro Torre 2 times along the Ragni road; the Saint Exupery, Mermoz, Guillaumet, De L S, Innominata, etc. needles. He also climbed mountains in South American countries: Chile, Bolivia and Peru; and from Europe: Spain, France and Switzerland. With paragliding he has made numerous long-distance flights in the mountains and steppe, with routes of more than 150 km; and other mountain ascents combining paragliding with trekking, skiing and climbing.

PABLO PILOTTA

Born in Olavarría, he has lived in Mar del Plata since he was 7 years old, where he trained as a climber and mountaineer. Today, with more than 35 years of uninterrupted activity, the amateur practice, the love for nature and the mountain led him to become a Professional High Mountain Guide. Bringing people together and guiding them is a way he has found to give back to this beautiful activity some of what it has given him: friends, family and countless lessons for everyday life. He is a Tourist and Sports Ambassador for the City of Mar del Plata and owner of the Sierra la Vigilancia climbing center in the Balcarce mountains, one of the largest sport climbing centers in the country. There he has numerous equipped routes and has taught courses in rock climbing, mountaineering, equipment and route opening. This place has been the springboard for many climbing and mountain trips, inside and outside the country. He has climbed 17 summits of Aconcagua by different routes, and has made trips and expeditions to Peru, USA,Russia, Europe, Africa, Alaska, Asia, always linked to mountain climbing, trekking and tourism. He climbed the Alpamayo and several mountains in Peru, the Elbrus in the Caucasus (the highest in Europe), the Kilimanjaro (the highest in Africa), the Denali (the highest in North America, in Alaska), and participated in an expedition to the Cho Oyu of 8201 meters, the sixth highest mountain in the world. He was Guide and Expedition Leader to Everest in April-May 2021.

BRUNO CASTRO

Climber and mountaineer by sport since 2009, Mountain Guide and Climbing Instructor by profession. He lives in Mar del Plata and his daily life is spent climbing, either working in Sierra La Vigilancia as an instructor in sport climbing courses, climbing on his own or opening new routes looking for different challenges. He has made high mountain expeditions throughout the Andes, reaching summits in Aconcagua, Ojos del Salado, San Francisco, Tronador, Domuyo and Lanin among others. He has climbed in different areas of Mendoza, Cordoba and Patagonia, developing mainly in sport climbing in the area of Mar del Plata and Balcarce where he reached the 8b grade, seeking to improve every season. His passion for nature made him decide to become an environmental activist and take part in the defense of our planet for more than 10 years.

ROSANA RECHENCQ​

She is a Mountain Guide and National Physical Education Teacher with orientation in mountain activities. She has been a volunteer firefighter for 25 years, working as an officer in the active body of the Melipal Volunteer Firefighters, Bariloche. She worked as a teacher at the Universidad del Comahue, in courses of the Club Andino Bariloche and several courses of rope rescue, first aid, glacier transit and rock climbing. She is an instructor in AAGM courses. She developed activities of climbing, trekking, ascents, ski touring and single-seater paragliding, in mountains of the Patagonian, central and northern Andes, Peru: Cordillera Blanca, Chile; Alps and Himalayas. Some outstanding summits are Fitz Roy, Tronador, its three summits, Catedral, Aconcagua, Alpamayo, La Esfinge, Chopicalqui, Mont Blanc.

DANIEL REARTE​

Agronomist engineer by profession, inveterate backpacker traveler, traveled a hundred countries, -travel to know, his life goal-, mountaineer and adventure sports enthusiast. In the last 15 years dedicated to adventure races, finisher in about fifty Ultratrails in South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, the Marathon des Sables in theSahara, the Everest Trail Race in the Himalayas, the Jungle Marathon in the Amazon, the North Pole Marathon at the North Pole, the Great Wall Marathon in the Chinese wall, Le-Treg in the Ennedi desert in Chad, the Sierra Andina Marathon in the white mountain range of Peru, the Altai Ultra Trail in Russian Siberia, the Jordan Ultra Race in the Wadu Rum desert of Jordan, among many others; first Argentinean finisher Cat. V3 (>60 years) of the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (2015). His special interest in extreme environments and the cultural diversity of the planet made him discover the ultratrail as a means of knowledge and integration to the people who inhabit it. He is currently studying History at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Mar del Plata.

CRISTIAN VITRY​

Anthropologist specialized in archeology and professor of geography and biological sciences. His sporting career includes more than 120 high mountain expeditions (Christian heights above 5,000 m.a.s.l.), including 18 first ascents, 14 second ascents and 9 original high mountain traverses. International expeditions to Bolivia, Peru, Chile and Ecuador, having made more than forty ascents to mountains over 6,000 m, including Aconcagua. A hundred expeditions of hiking and mid-mountain (altitudes below 5,000 m.), trekking through jungle and desert areas. In 1985, at the age of 19, he climbed the Aconcagua in 52 hours starting from the Inca Bridge and in 1989, together with Emilio Gonzalez Turu, he made the direct route to the south wall of the Chañi (6,000 m), a mixed route of almost 1,000 m of altitude difference that was never repeated. He received numerous mentions as a sportsman among which are the awards for the mountaineer of the year in 1978/80/82/83/84/85/92 and 96; in 1985 he received the silver medal in the list of outstanding sportsmen of the province and in 1996 the award “Los Consagrados del deporte”.

SIGRID SPORK​

Climber, teacher, trainer. She started in 2013 at the Club Andino de Buenos Aires, where she trained and worked as an instructor from 2015 to 2018, year in which she moved to Mar del Plata, where she still teaches climbing at the Climbing Center Sierra La Vigilancia. In 2015 she co-founded the CABA children's climbing school and in 2018 she graduated as a Physical Education Teacher with an Environmental orientation. In sport climbing her maximum grade worked is 7a and in mountain terrain she climbed in Arenales, Frey and El Chalten in D L'S and Guillaumet needles.
